Vandals Ruin Hillary Clinton For President Banner in Madison

A resident has filed a complaint with the Police Department.

Presidential politics can invoke passionate feelings on both sides of the aisle, but sometimes it can get down and dirty too.

When former U.S. Secretary and U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton appeared in Madison last month Bettina Braisted, 63, of Madison, planned to give her a homemade banner she made that states, “A Woman’s Place is in the White House,” and “Hillary in 2016,” the Shoreline Times reports.

But the night before Clinton arrived, vandals threw red paint on the banner ruining it. It took her seven hours of to make the banner, and she plans to redo it and drive it to Clinton’s home in New York.

Braisted, who owns The Sailbag Lady in Madison, has filed a complaint with the Police Department. More than 1,000 people waited on line to see Clinton when she autographed copies of her book, memoir, “Hard Choices” at R.J. Julia Booksellers last month.
