VIDEO: Madison Woman Battling ALS Calls on Jimmy Fallon For Help

Last year, Amanda Bernier gave birth to a healthy baby girl named Arabella Grace on Nov. 4 at Yale New Haven Hospital, WTNH News 8 reported.

For many people that would be a life-defining moment and of course it was for Amanda and her husband, Chris, who is the EMS director at the Madison Emergency Medical Services, but some might have called it miraculous too.

Amanda Bernier is a volunteer firefighter in Madison who was diagnosed with the most aggressive form of ALS earlier last year. Bernier, who used to run marathons can no longer walk and is now on a ventilator.

This year she made her second “Ice Bucket Challenge” video and she’s calling on “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon, who she is a big fan of to help find a cure for the disease, NBC Connecticut reports.

Bernier, now 31, says she loves Fallon’s show and enjoys going to bed laughing every night.

Bernier says it may be too late for her but she wants a cure so others won’t have to suffer.

Since Bernier was diagnosed, Amanda’s Angels has been assisting Amanda Bernier and her husband Chris Bernier raise money as the most assistance they need is financial. A Go Fund Me page has been set up for those wishing to donate.
