Vista Life Innovations Celebrates Its Five Graduates!

Vista Life Innovations, a nationally accredited post-secondary program for individuals with disabilities, held its 2019 graduation ceremony at The Kate in Old Saybrook. This year’s graduating class includes Sarah, Alex, Chris, Rob, and Connor. As graduation day quickly approached, students finished their independent living skills training in the Discover residential program and prepared to move into their own homes.

Delivering the keynote address at this year’s ceremony, Lori Payton Ph.D. is the

Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy, Portfolio & Program Management at Sage Therapeutics and VP, Global Development Team Leader at Alexion. Since 2017, Lori proudly serves as a member of Vista’s Board of Directors. Lori triumphed over a life-threatening diagnosis of Acoustic Neuroma. She persevered through months of rigorous recovery after undergoing brain surgery. Lori’s story of perseverance, determination and tenacity is an inspiration to all. Much like Lori, the graduates being celebrated have overcome obstacles to achieve their goals and continue to challenge themselves.

The ceremony began at 2 p.m. at The Kate in Old Saybrook. A casual reception followed the ceremony on-site. Friends, family, community members and state legislators celebrated both the ceremony and reception.
