WALK for Vista Overcomes Rain, Raises $60K

Annual fundraising event benefiting Vista Life Innovations

Rain was not enough to keep people away from the annual WALK for Vista fundraising event in Madison benefiting Vista Life Innovations, a community-based program that supports the personal success of individuals with disabilities.

More than 300 registered participants across 37 teams supported the Oct. 29 event, which stands to net nearly $60,000. Proceeds from the WALK benefit the programs and services of Vista as well as the Ed Gallant Financial Aid Fund, which provides scholarship opportunities to students and members in Vista’s programs.

Among those in attendance were state Sen. Ted Kennedy Jr. of Branford, state Rep. Noreen Kokoruda of Madison, and Brad Gallant, son of Ed Gallant—founder of Vista’s Ed Gallant Financial Aid Fund.

Although the wet weather prevented participants from walking, it didn’t dampen their spirits. Participants enjoyed raffle prize drawings, a photo booth, and the musical stylings of the Lancraft Fife and Drum Corps.

Vista would like to thank event sponsors Walgreens, Essex Printing, Shore Publishing and Vornado Realty Trust.
