Water Main Replacement Work Underway In Madison

The work is expected to run into late April, according to officials.

MADISON, CT — A water main replacement project in Madison is underway, and is expected to last at least into late April, according to town officials.

The project is being conducted by the Connecticut Water Company on Scotland Avenue and River Edge Farms Road.

From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week, certain roads may be closed, but still accessible for local traffic, emergency vehicles and buses, according to officials.

Work started on Scotland Avenue and moved to River Edge Farms Road this week.

"Additionally, reclamation of Flintlock Road (from Wildcat Road to the cul-de-sac) and East Wharf Road is scheduled to begin on April 9, 2026," said First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons in a recent community update. "Work will start on Flintlock Road before moving to East Wharf Road. Paving for both roads is expected to follow starting on April 20, 2026."

Immediately after, milling and paving work will begin on the following roads:

  • Linden Lane
  • Fence Creek Drive
  • Old Post Road/Birnbaum Lane
  • Winter Hill Road
