What To Know About The Presidential Preference Primary Aug. 11

Registered Republicans and Democrats may vote in their respective party's primary, in person or by mail, including the ballot drop box.

MADISON, CT — First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons is reminding residents that Tuesday, Aug. 11 is the Presidential Preference Primary election. Residents need to be a registered Republican or Democrat to vote in their respective party primary.

For those who will vote in person, the District 1 polling location has changed from the Senior Center to Polson Middle School gymnasium. District 2 voting will remain at Brown Intermediate School. Voting hours are from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

For those voting by absentee ballot, please visit the Town Clerk’s website for up to date information on the process.

All registered Democratic and Republican voters should have received an Application for Absentee Ballot from the Secretary of the State in the mail. Completed ballots can be returned by dropping them into the secure, designated State of Connecticut Official Ballot Drop Box located outside the main entrance to Town Hall on the Town Campus, or by mail.
