The competition included an oyster bar in Rhode Island that also serves delicious baked stuffed lobster, a paella and tapas restaurant in Hartford called Costa del sol, and Soul de Cuba in New Haven, which, of course, serves Cuban cuisine.

Other local recommendations include Cafe Routier (hanger steak!), Friends & Co. (the desserts sound divine), Chubby's Place (everything on the menu!), and Whitfield's (what's not to like about lobster and pea risotto?).
