MADISON, CT — Though it’s hardly the first state to do so, Connecticut’s move to install ballot drop boxes in front of every community’s town or city hall has been widely reported on, and praised. The boxes are the place where voters drop their absentee applications, and, their absentee ballots.

Here’s how voting by mail in the Nov. 3 general election will work, Madison. And voters have simply to retrieve their ballot application from their mailboxes, check a few boxes, drop it in a box, and when the ballot arrives in early October, fill it out, and drop it in the box. That’s it.
