Who's Here? Jenny Wood!

Who's visiting Madison? We scoured the town to find out….

Who:  Jenny Wood, a step-down care nurse from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Where we found her:  Outside Lenny & Joe’s Fish Tale, researching dinner options before taking a stroll along the boardwalk at Hammonasset Beach State Park.

Why she’s in town:  After spending the afternoon at a friend’s baby shower in Stratford, Jenny headed north on I-95 for an overnight visit with her older sister, Katy Wood, who works at Yale University.  The sisters grew up in Belvidere, New Jersey, a “very small town” not far from the shore, so they were drawn to the seaside.  They planned a pre-dinner visit to Hammonasset to take in the sun, sand, and surf.

Sibling rivalry?  “I was a pretty bad little sister,” Jenny admitted with a chuckle as the two reminisced about their childhood, regaling this reporter with stories of their long-ago dramas.  Their youthful squabbles long since past, a three-plus-hour drive now separates them, and the sisters make a point of visiting each other often.

First-time visitor, or longtime visitor?  Return visit, and Hammonasset is a favorite destination.

Best thing about being here:  “Katy!...  Spending time together, and being near the water.”
