Why Madison?

New website from Madison Economic Development Commission seeks to answer that question for site selectors, businesses.

The Madison Economic Development Commission (EDC) is pleased to announce the launch of its new website http://madisonedc.com.

The site was designed in co-operation with two firms, Select Client Services of Branford and Seal Creatives of Madison.

“It was wonderful that our commission was fortunate enough to have these two companies work together bringing different strength and expertise to the project," said Joan Walker in a prepared release. She worked with Anne Foley on the project for the EDC.  “We were able to get insight from Select Client Services on what site selectors are looking for and utilize the amazing creativity of Seal Creatives to put our town in the best possible light.”

Site selectors are firms that are hired by other companies to relocate that company and their employees to different parts of the country and the world.

Jan Nelson of Seal Creatives said “this project was not only a huge success, but a truly enjoyable work experience.  We met so many educated, caring and dynamic individuals throughout the project.  We owe a special thanks to Glenn Foster, the project head from Select Client Services, who welcomed our creative talents within his EDC expertise, and enabled us to flourish as a team.  We are all extremely proud of the final product.”

This site gives relevant information about Madison, such as demographics, economics and education but also has an outstanding video that answers the question ‘Why Madison?' Real Estate agents will be able to list their commercial properties on the site and have a link to residential listings as well.  There are listings of the town’s restaurants and shops as well as cultural and events.

The site also includes testimonials from local businesses.  A letter was sent to all businesses in town inviting them to submit their testimonial under the ‘Why Madison’ menu.  “This allows site selectors to see that Madison is great town to do business in – from the perspective of other business owners.  That is a very powerful tool,” Walker said.

The EDC invites all Madison residents to take a look at the site and contact them with any questions or suggestions.
