Winter Concert to Benefit Injured Daniel Hand Student Joe Barber

Madison Cultural Arts, with "Music at the Meetinghouse," presents a holiday concert at 4:00 PM, Saturday, Dec 12 to support Joe Barber.

Madison Cultural Arts in conjunction with “Music at the Meetinghouse” presents its 18th annual holiday concert at 4:00 PM on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the First Congregational Church in Madison. “Winter Concert – A Holiday Musical Celebration,” will feature for only the second time both renowned choirs of Trinity Church on the Green, New Haven – the Trinity Boys Choir and the Trinity Girls Choir.

There will be a very special holiday appearance by the Choate Rosemary Hall Jazz Ensemble and the Choate Rosemary Hall Chamber Orchestra. The Constitution Brass Quintet will perform a Renaissance prelude and postlude to the concert. Music selections will range from the choirs’ repertoire of traditional Christmas carols, music from Hanukkah, and popular holiday songs to the Chamber Orchestra’s rendition of Corelli’s “Christmas Concerto,” to the great jazz ballad A Child is Born by the legend Thad Jones.

The general admittance fee for adults is $20 with $15 for seniors and students. The admittance fee for children 12 and under is a donation of non-perishable food items at the door, or $5. The food items will benefit the Madison Community Services Food Pantry which provides groceries to Madison residents in need throughout the year.

Tickets are available at the Madison Stop & Stop service desk after Thanksgiving with a limited number available at the door just prior to the concert. For more information, call 203-245-0615. This year’s concert is a benefit for Joe Barber, the Madison Daniel Hand High School Senior and football player who was very seriously injured in a diving accident at the Surf Club this past August.
