Winter Team State Championship History: Daniel Hand High School
Tiger teams have won 27 state championships in winters past.
MADISON, CT — As practices for Connecticut high school winter sports officially get underway Monday (girls basketball, ice hockey and wrestling) and Thursday (boys basketball, indoor track, boys swimming and girls gymnastics), hopes run high for all teams to achieve the ultimate goal: winning a league championship, and possibly a state title.
To help squads get into the championship mentality, here is a listing of all 27 CIAC winter team titles won by Daniel Hand High School in past years (* - indicates a co-op team).
- girls gymnastics (18) - Class M: 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2007, 2006, 2000, 1999, 1985, 1981, 1980, 1979, 1978; Class S: 2003, 1998, 1997, 1993
- wrestling (5) - Class L: 2012; Class M: 1995, 1983, 1982; Class S: 1978
- girls basketball (2) - Class L: 2017, 1999
- boys ice hockey (2) - Div. II: 2014, 2006
