3 Displaced After Manchester Apartment Fire
A fire broke out at a multi-family home in Manchester Monday.

MANCHESTER, CT — A Monday morning fire displaced a trio of residents in central Manchester.
The fire broke out at 5:17 a.m., at the multi-family home at 85-87 East Middle Turnpike. Firefighters encountered heavy smoke in the kitchen and visible flames coming from the dwelling upon arrival, officials said.
In all, six companies responded.

Flames were located in a bedroom on the first floor and the blaze was extinguished within 10 minutes, fire officials said.
One resident was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, fire officials said.

On Tuesday, signs were posted at the home indicating the the apartment is uninhabitable.
The American Red Cross said it was assisting three displaced residents.
Three occupants were displaced and were being assisted by the American Red Cross.
The cause is under investigation.
