CONNECTICUT — Three more Connecticut Bed Bath & Beyond stores found their way on the corporate hit list this week with the announcement that the Manchester, Norwalk and Guilford stores are closing.

Staffers answering the phones at all three stores confirmed the announcement, saying employees were notified two days ago.

Staffers in Manchester and Norwalk said no specific closing date has been forwarded to employees, but the guess is that it would likely be in March or April. A Guilford staffer said no one is even guessing at that store.

The three stores are joining several Connecticut locations already designated for closure in a Jan. 30 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and — Enfield, Fairfield, Hamden, Southington, Wethersfield, Stamford and Waterford. An Enfield staffer presented a similar timetable for complete closure when contacted by Patch.

Signs popped up quickly in Enfield reading "Store Closing," "Everything Must Go!," "Nothing Held Back!" and "Entire Store 20% Off/" They were posted in the windows of the Brookside Plaza store, which ironically opened on Jan. 30, in 2007.
