MANCHESTER, CT — Mother's Day turned out to be special for a momma duck, her ducklings and a Manchester Fire Department crew that saved them.
On Sunday, the duck family left its nest along a section of Hilliard Street for a stroll, but the ducklings — and Mom — became stuck in a storm drain, fire officials said.
The MFD's Engine 7 then came to the rescue and managed to get them all out, fire officials said.
They were all eventually transported back to their pond, safe and sound, fire officials said.
