MANCHESTER, CT — It will remain open for a few months, but it seems business will be winding down at Carlito's Bakery after the fall.
That was the word from an emotional social media post from ownership this week.
It read, "Closing this chapter after almost 8 beautiful years From late nights and early mornings to celebrations, milestones, and memories made with all of you — these are some of the moments that made it all worth it. Thank you for supporting my dream, my family, and my little bakery through the years. Forever grateful for the love."
Carlito's is located at 73A Tolland Turnpike in Manchester, near the Vernon line.
Ownership told Patch Wednesday that the family will eventually move to Florida. Ownership cited family reasons and competition with supermarket bakeries as two factors.
Carlito's will remain open into the fall and maybe even to the end of the year, ownership said.
