MANCHESTER, CT — Members of the Manchester Police Department joined law enforcement agencies from across Connecticut at a special event honoring a 10-year-old boy battling a rare form of cancer and pursuing his dream of becoming a police officer.
Collin Genetti was welcomed at the Connecticut Office of the Chief State's Attorney in an event organized to show support for his ambition to enter law enforcement.
Collin arrived in a police motorcade and was greeted by officers from departments across the state. He had the opportunity to meet police canine officers and their partners and explore police vehicles from participating agencies.
Manchester police Sgt. Dave Williams and Sgt. Johan Calderon joined Collin for a photo with the CREST regional BearCat, a specialized armored vehicle.
Manchester police said it was an honor to stand with Collin. and his family and demonstrate the support of the state's law enforcement community as he continues his fight against cancer.
"Keep fighting, Collin," the department said.
