MANCHESTER, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation is deploying mobile automated work zone speed control equipment on Interstate 384 during roadway maintenance, officials said.
The Automated Work Zone Speed Control equipment is expected to begin operating this week and remain in use for approximately two weeks, weather and construction conditions permitting.
The equipment may issue warnings or infractions to motorists who exceed posted speed limits in the work zone (under Connecticut General Statutes Section 13a-263).
CTDOT is urging motorists to slow down, remain alert and use caution while traveling through the work area.
The agency said drivers should expect the automated enforcement equipment to be mobile and in operation during the maintenance period.
