2. 3 stories and a new chapter: Manchester holds grand opening for new public library (fox61.com) — Manchester's new $50 million, three-story public library is now open, tripling the size of the old Main Street building and offering dedicated spaces for kids, teens, and adults. Local contractors built the net‑zero, geothermal facility, which drew Governor Ned Lamont, town leaders, and hundreds of residents for Monday's ribbon cutting.
3. Martha Stewart stops in Manchester to film a commercial, visit local cafe (ctpost.com) — Martha Stewart quietly stopped by Silk City Coffee in Manchester for lunch Friday while in Connecticut to film a commercial at Ace Hardware. The visit brought a bit of celebrity buzz to the downtown café, where she sampled a chicken salad sandwich and even asked about their gluten‑free, vegan doughnut recipe.

Recent Death Notices From Vernon (patch.com) — Several recent death notices from nearby Vernon include strong Manchester connections, including two 1954 graduates of Manchester High School and a man formerly of Manchester and East Hartford.
