MANCHESTER, CT — A moped rider sustained serious injuries in a collision with a car Thursday night in Manchester, police said,
The crash took place at 7:51 p.m. near 1520 Pleasant Valley Road. That is near the Plaza at Buckland Hills shopping center.
Police said the operator of the moped, a 35-year-old man, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment.
The other driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
Pleasant Valley Road was closed between Buckland Street and 1436 Pleasant Valley while officers investigated the collision. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation, police said.
