MANCHESTER, CT — While making the rounds in Manchester last week, Barstool Sports founder David Portnoy said when he sees the term "Apizza" in a window, the pies are held to a high standard.
Well, Randy's Wooster Street Pizza Shop passed the test with a "very good" mark of 8.1 from "El Presidente" of pizza critics.
Portnoy posted the review Wednesday evening.
He and the Barstool crew were in Manchester last Thursday and at Rentschler Field on Friday for the UConn-UMass football game.
He took the time to get in some passionate pizza reviews.
"Ive said this speech five gazillion times, if you see the A in front of pizza ... it's New Haven style and my favorite pizza in the world," Portnoy said.
Higher standard or not, he called the pie from Randy's, "very good." He said "good" several times.
He also called the Matchbox car-themed interior one of the best pizza places he's seen.
