MANCHESTER, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• The men's soccer team at Eastern Connecticut State University recently began its fall 2019 season, with 11 new players and 20 returning players. Among the student athletes on this year's team is number 28, Maximilian Carlson of Manchester, who majors in Exploratory Social Sciences. Carlson plays defense. This is his second year with the team.

Lasell University, Newton MA

• Lasell University welcomed more than 580 new students, including three from Manchester, to its Newton, Massachusetts campus this month. Samantha Jones became an Exercise Science student at Lasell this fall; Brandee Maldonado became a Fashion Merchandising and Management student; and Xavier Fort became a Psychology student.
