Authorities Piecing Together Details of Fire That Killed 6-Year-Old in Plainfield
Her mom and brother were rescued from the home.

PLAINFIELD, CT — Investigators on Thursday were trying to piece together just what happened at 10 Windsor Ave. on Wednesday night when a fire broke out that killed a 6-year-old girl and sent emergency crews scrambling to rescue her mother and brother.
The fire was detailed in multiple media reports.
According to NBC Connecticut, a 911 call was placed just before 11 p.m. Wednesday from inside the home. Dispatchers were told that people were trapped inside.

After the rescue effort through a window, a woman and an 18-month-old boy were taken from the house, NBC reported.
Fire crews were were unable to reach the 6-year-old girl, the Hartford Courant reported.

NBC reported that the woman who lives in the home, 18-month-old boy and a male resident of the house were rushed to Backus Hospital, and the man and baby were released shortly after.
The woman was moved to a Rhode Island Hospital and was in critical condition, according to NBC.
WTNH Tweeted that investigators from Plainfield were sifting through rubble and that some neighbors talked about hearing an explosion.
There were multiple reports of firefighters taking the scene hard, especially those with children at home.
