Manchester, CT — Here are some important dates to mark on the 2016-17 Manchester public school system calendar:

• Aug. 25: CIAC first official day of fall sports practices.
• Sept. 1: First day of classes, grades K-7 and grade 9.
• Sept. 2: First day of classes for grade 8 and grades 11 and 12.
• Nov 25 to 25: Thanksgiving break.
• Dec. 26 to Jan. 2: Winter break.
• Feb. 20 and 21: Presidents Day break.
• April 10 to 14: Spring break.
• June 13: Last day of school (tentative).
