Bicycle Rider Seriously Hurt In Manchester Crash

Manchester police said a bicyclist was hurt in a collision with a car Sunday.

MANCHESTER, CT — A bicyclist was seriously hurt Sunday evening in a collision with a car in Manchester, police said.

The crash took place at 7:47 p.m. on High Street at the intersection of Walnut Street, police said.

A car and bicycle collided and the bicyclist, a 51-year-old man, was transported via ambulance to Hartford Hospital, according to police. His injuries were described by police as "significant."

The driver of the car and a passenger were not injured, police said.

The accident is currently under investigation by the Manchester Police Department Traffic Unit. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has additional information can contact Officer Jonathan Sargolini at 860-645-5560, police said.
