Big Lottery Prize Sold in Manchester on Monday

Lottery officials are looking for the player who purchased a big winning ticket in Manchester on Monday.

MANCHESTER, CT – Lottery officials are looking for the player who purchased a big winning ticket in Manchester on Monday in the Lucky for Life game.

The ticket, bought at Brown’s Package Store, 278 West Middle Turnpike in Manchester, is worth $25,000 a year the player's life, lottery officials said.

In Connecticut alone, there were a total of 12,878 lucky winners with prizes ranging from $3 to the $25,000-a-year prize, lottery officials said.

Since Lucky for Life became a multi-state game in January 2015, the game’s second prize has been won a total of 145 times, 19 of which occurred in Connecticut. That's the most of any participating state lottery.

The minimum guaranteed amount a second prize winner could receive is $500,000 ($25,000 a year for 20 years), but winners who live longer than that will receive prize payments for the remainder of their natural life.

The second prize “Cash Option” is worth $390,000.
