Big Y Eyeing Gas Station for Manchester Store

MANCHESTER, CT — The Big Y supermarket chain has submitted preliminary plans for a gas station at its Manchester store.

The store is located at 176 Tolland Turnpike.

The plans were submitted on Monday by the chain's parent company, Big Y Foods Inc. and calls for the construction of "a convenience store with associated gas station and related improvements."

A specific grid inside the plaza is not mentioned but the initial request is for a wetlands permit to implement an erosion and sedimentation control plan.
