WETHERSFIELD, CT — A Manchester woman who was reported missing in December 2021, was found dead in the Connecticut River on Memorial Day, according to Manchester and Wethersfield police.

Manchester police said her identity has been determined to be that of 22-year-old Sherrian Howe, who went missing from Manchester four days before Christmas.

The manner and cause of death are yet to be determined, pending completion of an investigation by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Manchester police said.

Wethersfield police said a body was found in the Connecticut River Monday morning. At 9:30 a.m. authorities received a call from a person who said he had found a body in the river, police said.

Wethersfield police and fire crews responded along with the Glastonbury Volunteer Fire Department to recover the body, police said.

Wethersfield said they police are continuing to investigate. No other details were released.
