"I saw the Paul Mitchell Shampoo at CVS, is it the same thing as you have?"
"What products did you use in my hair? Oh, o.k., I will just check CVS and see if they have them and get them there; it's cheaper."
These are things I sometimes hear, as a salon professional. The thinking goes; "since you are a salon, you are going to charge me more for hair products, so I can just go to CVS, Walmart, Target, of the Christmas Tree Shop and get it cheaper, thank you very much!" But then I am asked....is it really the same product I am getting?
Please read this article below and see what you think. Read it objectively and make an informed decision. I have had clients also do some homework and write down my prices for products and compare them to retail stores; surprise! CVS, Target and others were always higher than my salon prices, and that didn't take into account the time, gas and energy they spent in going to get them.
