- The women's rugby club at Eastern Connecticut State University claimed the New England Collegiate Cup (NECC) championship on Nov. 9 at the 2019 Plymouth Rock Bowl, capping off their undefeated season. Among this year's players was Melody Ochoa of Manchester, who majors in Biology. A tier-two team in the New England-Wide Collegiate Rugby Conference (NEWCRC), the club earned the top spot in their division, scoring 350 points with only 44 points against them. The NEWCRC is an independent Division II collegiate conference for both women's and men's programs. Eastern's women's rugby club was founded in fall 2016. Today the team has more than 30 members.

- Junior Philip Quaye and sophomore Tah Vaughn Webber, both of Manchester, are competing on the SCSU men's track and field squad in 2019-20. Quaye is majoring in international business, while Webber is an Athletic Training major. Sophomore Begotty Laroche is a member of the women's team; she is majoring in Nursing.
University of Connecticut, Storrs CT
- Former Manchester High School standout Joe Pearl is a member of the men's track and field team at UConn this season. He is a sophomore.

- Senior Elizabeth Lodge of Manchester is a member of the Hawks' women's track and field team for 2019-20. She is majoring in Marketing.
