Car Hits Manchester Bicyclist in Tolland Sunday

State police are looking for the car and driver in the hit-and-run incident in Tolland.

TOLLAND, CT — State police are looking for the driver of an older Oldsmobile who hit a bicyclist and kept on going in Tolland on Sunday.

According to a crash report, 27-year-old Zachary Dryden, who lives at 345 Buckland Hills Drive in Manchester, was heading south on Crystal Lake Road — state Route 30 — at 2:32 p.m.

Dryden was riding on the shoulder and was hit by a car, which did not stop and continued heading south away from the scene, according to a crash report.

Dryden was taken to Hartford Hospital via ambulance with suspected minor injuries, state police and Tolland fire officials said.

A home camera system captured an image of the car and it appears to be a 1999 or 2000 Oldsmobile Alera, state police said. State police released an image of that type of car. Anyone who may have seen such a car on Route 30 during the corresponding time period or knows who may have been driving the exact car is being asked to call Trooper Tyler Burnell at the state police Troop C barracks — 860-896-3200.

The car will have damage to the passenger side and no passenger side mirror, state police said.
