Child Found Wandering In Manchester Complex, Teen Charged

A teen was charged after a 5-year-old was found wandering at a Manchester apartment complex.

MANCHESTER, CT — A Manchester teen was charged on Wednesday after a 5-year-old was found first wandering the halls of an apartment complex on Pine Street, then outside, police said.

The youngster was in his care and tennants found him alone inside the Velvet Mill apartment complex, complaining of being cold, police said.

The child then ran off and had to be chased down Pine Street, according to police.

Police estimated the child was alone for about two hours. The initial call came in at 4:20 p.m., police said.

Thierno Diallo, 19, was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a child, according to a report.

Police said they notified the state Department of Children and Families about the incident.
