Connecticut Labor Department Releases July 2026 Unemployment Numbers — See How Manchester Stacks Up

MANCHESTER, CT — The Connecticut Department of Labor has released unemployment figures for July 2026 and Manchester performed at a higher rate than the state average.

According to the Labor Department, Connecticut non-farm payrolls continued to grow jobs in July 2026, adding 2,800 jobs.

Over the year, the state has now increased 13,800 non-farm positions (0.8) percent to another new all-time high point.

As of July, Connecticut's labor force totaled 1,909,300, according to the Labor Department. A total of 1,799,200 were employed and the unemployment roles stood at 110,100, according to the Labor Department. That's a rate of 5.8 percent, according to the Labor Department.
