CT DOT Resurfacing Project On Route 83 In Manchester Under Way
A major project will cause overnight lane closures in Manchester.

MANCHESTER, CT — Work has begun on a Connecticut Department of Transportation milling and resurfacing project Route 83 from the U.S, 6 and 44 (Center Street) intersection to the start of the overlap with Route 30 (Deming Street) in Manchester.
In all, the work will span a 2.61-mile segment of Route 83 and was to start Thursday via Rafferty Fine Grading, Inc. The milling work is slated to last until Sept. 16, DOT officials said.
The resurfacing segment of the project is anticipated to run from Sept. 18 to September 23, 2022, by American Industries.

The project is part of the DOT's 2022 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 83 from US 6 and 44 (Center Street) to the beginning overlap of Route 30 Deming Street in Manchester. The work schedule for this project is Sunday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
