Dates Set for Manchester Road Race In-Person Registration, Bib Handout

MANCHESTER, CT — The Manchester Road Race Committee has scheduled several dates in November for walk-in registration and bib distribution for this year's race.

MRR officials Wednesday were also reminding runners that registration for the annual Thanksgiving Day run will close completely at 11:59 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Nov. 26. No entries for the road race will be accepted thereafter.

The dates and locations of the upcoming registration/bib distribution events are as follows:

• Walk-in registration and bib distribution on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Manchester High School, 134 East Middle Turnpike in Manchester.
• Walk-in registration and bib distribution on Sunday, Nov. 24, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Marathon Sports, 63 Hebron Avenue in Glastonbury.
• Walk-in registration and bib distribution on Monday, Nov. 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Fleet Feet, 1003 Farmington Avenue in West Hartford.
• Walk-in registration and bib distribution on Tuesday, Nov. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Urban Lodge Brewing Company, 47 Purnell Place in Manchester. It will be the last chance for runners to register for the race in person, and all entries will close completely at 11:59 p.m. that evening when on-line registration ends.
• Bib distribution ONLY will occur on Wednesday Nov. 27, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Cone Gymnasium of the Bennet Academy, 1151 Main Street in Manchester. It will be the final opportunity for entrants who have elected to pick up their bibs in person to do so. There will not be bib distribution on race day this year.

The 88th running of the Manchester Road Race is scheduled for Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 28 of this year) at 10 a.m. The race, which is a World Athletics Label Road Race and one of America's oldest and most popular Turkey Day events, is run on a loop course through central Manchester that starts and finishes on Main Street, in front of St. James Church. The event’s Presenting Sponsors are ECHN, Pratt & Whitney and Hoffman Lexus. It is organized by approximately 400 volunteers of the Manchester Road Race Committee, with support from the town of Manchester.

As of early Wednesday morning, a total of 7,105 runners have signed up for the race. Online registration runs through Nov. 26th, and more details about the road race are available at www.manchesterroadrace.com.
