Defendant Gets 3 Years In Manchester Sexual Assault Case

A defendant in a Manchester sexual assault case received a prison sentence and is facing deportation, authorities said.

MANCHESTER, CT — A 31-year-old man was given a three-year prison sentence in a sexual assault case involving a teenager in Manchester, judicial system records indicate.

He is also on track to be deported to his native Jamaica once the prison term is over, case records show.

Oneil Stevens was arrested on a second-degree sexual assault charge by Manchester police on May 1, 2018 and the incidents were from the previous February, according to case records. The charge indicates the girl was between 13 and 15 at time of the encounters.

Stevens was in the United States illegally, according to case records. He entered a guilty plea in February of this year, according to case records.
