Distracted Driving Enforcement Campaign to Begin in Manchester, East Hartford
Manchester and East Hartford police are participating in the campaign.

MANCHESTER/EAST HARTFORD, CT — You better watch out and better not text when driving around Manchester and East Hartford this month.
Both police departments are participating in a distracted driving enforcement campaign starting Tuesday with the state Department of Transportation.
It's called the U Drive/U Text/U Pay campaign and it means extra patrols will be on the roads through April 30, police said.

Drivers who violate state laws by using cellphones and other electronic devices face fines of $150 for the first offense, $300 for a second offense and $500 for third and subsequent offenses, police said.
