Driver Snagged Going 124 MPH, Then Snagged With Drugs: Police

A man was caught hiding in a snowbank after trying to elude state police, a report indicates.

MANCHESTER, CT — A man who was driving faster than 120 mph on an area highway is now facing drug charges, state police said.

At about 10:30 a.m. on Monday, the state police Traffic Services Unit was conducting motor vehicle enforcement on Interstate-384 westbound near exit 4 Manchester. Troopers clocked a gray Acura’s speed at 124 mph in a posted 65 mph zone, according to a report.

As troopers attempted to stop the Acura, the operator, Matthew Milone, attempted to elude the troopers and exited I-384 at Exit 5 Bolton, according to a report.

As troopers exited the highway at Exit 5, other motorists pointed troopers in the direction of the Acura, according to a report. Troopers located the Acura backed into a snowbank on Tunxis Trail in Bolton.

Milone was detained and found to be in possession of a plastic baggie containing cocaine and a small quantity of marijuana along with rolling papers, state police said.

Milone, 22, of Coventry, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, attempt to elude, and using an expired driver's license.

Milone was released after posting a $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear at Rockville Superior Court on March 26, according to state police.
