Drug Task Force Nabs Stash, Gun In Manchester Investigation

A narcotics investigation in Manchester led to an accused drug dealer being busted, police said.

MANCHESTER, CT — Drugs, a gun and money were confiscated in Manchester on Wednesday as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation, police said.

The East Central Narcotics Task Force conducted a search of a vehicle Wednessday that has been "involved in drug sales within the town of Manchester," according to a report. The operator of the vehicle was identified as 18-year-old Javier Mulero and ECNTF members had observed drug sales occurring directly from Mulero’s 2010 Honda Accord as part of the investigation, according to a report.

Task force members seized 80 bags of Fentanyl, more than 50 small "ink caps" filled with
cocaine and an undisclosed amount of cash, according to a report.

Located directly next to the narcotics was a loaded 9mm handgun, according to a report.

Mulero’s vehicle was also seized, according to a report.

Mulero was charged with:

  • Possession of narcotics (two counts)
  • Possession with the intent to sell narcotics
  • Conspiracy to sell narcotics (two counts)
  • Operating a drug factory,
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Carrying a pistol without a permit
  • Several drug-related school offenses

Mulero was also served an arrest warrant charging him with two counts of the sale of narcotics, and possession of narcotics. The warrant was from an ongoing investigation into "Mulero’s drug sales," according to a report.

Mulero was being held on a total of $400,000 in bonds after a Wednesday arraignment and is to appear again in Manchester Superior Court on March 8, according to judicial system records.
