Early Tickets On Sale For Major MCC Fundraiser

Early bird tickets are on sale for what is now the MCC Foundation's Evening of Fine Food and Friends.

MANCHESTER, CT — Manchester Community College's signature fundraising event, known for years as the Evening of Fine Wines, is back with a new name that showcases the "fantastic contributions provided by MCC’s own students."

Early bird tickets are on sale for what is now the MCC Foundation’s Evening of Fine Food and Friends. The event is slated for Friday, April 26, from 7 to 10 p.m.

Until Jan. 31, individual ticket prices are $95. Early bird tickets are $85 each when purchased as part of a group of six or more. After January, the price for a ticket goes up to $125 per person and $110 per person for groups of six or more.

Billy Grant, a local celebrity chef and restaurateur nand an MCC Foundation board member, will serve as honorary chair of this year’s event. As the new name emphasizes, the event will be a cabaret-themed night of fun, food, friends, wines and beers that "shines a light on all that MCC students contribute to make this this outstanding signature fundraiser a success."

Guests will start the evening with performances by MCC’s Music Studies students with special musical arrangements at the VIP reception and end by dancing to great music spun by DJs from MCC’s student-run ICE Radio.

All the food is prepared and served by MCC’s Culinary Arts and Hospitality students. They have already started planning the menu. MCC’s art students helped create the theme designs for invitations, posters, website and other promotional projects.

Through MCC Foundation, the Evening of Fine Food and Friends raises funds thatn support scholarships, programs and student life. Less than half of the college’s budget is supported through public funding.
