East Catholic Goalie Part Of Statewide Athlete Of Week Voting
Two standout performances put Senior Kelsey Kowal in the running for a state athlete of the week award.

MANCHESTER, CT — East Catholic's girls hockey goalie has found herself in the midst of a statewide athlete of the week voting after standing on her head over the weekend against a traditional state powerhouse.
Voting in the GameTime CT Athlete of the Week series for girls sports went live Tuesday morning.
Senior Kelsey Kowal stopped 34 shots and held a Darien offense that was averaging more than six goals per game to a single goal during a 1-0 overtime loss on Saturday. Kowal then recorded the shutout over Woodstock Academy on Monday.

Each week, the GameTimeCT staff selects five athletes competing in boys high school sports and five competing in girls sports as finalists. It's then in the hands of fans to vote for who they think should win the title of GameTimeCT Athlete of the Week. Voting begins Tuesday morning and closes Thursday night at 11:59 p.m. Winners will be announced each Friday at around noon.
