East Catholic Players Help Out at Children's Hospital Gala

The athletes assisted at the annual event to raise funds for the Connecticut Children's Medical Center.

About 40 members of the East Catholic High School baseball and softball teams volunteered their time last Saturday at the Connecticut Children’s Friends Storybook Gala.

The gala bought together many of the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center’s most generous supporters for a festive and inspiring evening. This year, the annual event featured a special appearance by legendary Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Cal Ripken, Jr., along with a cocktail reception, dinner, dancing and live and silent auctions.

The East Catholic athletes spent the evening helping out with collecting auction bids and “Bling Ring” sales.
