East Catholic Student Makes National Chemistry Olympiad

He was a regional winner.

MANCHESTER, CT - East Catholic High School senior, Eric Weinstein was one of 13 students chosen throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts to compete in the National Chemistry Olympiad.

THe compoetition took place April 22 at the University of Massachusetts. Weinstein will be receiving an award acknowledging his advancement to the national competition level. The results are not in yet.

Weinstein is a member of the Math Team, History Bowl Team, and Engineering Team at the school. He is also a member of the National Honor Society.

He has been on the Varsity Boys Tennis Team since freshman year and is a student volunteer at MARC, Inc. where he helps people with disabilities.

Eric resides in Vernon.
