Erratic Driving in Vernon Leads to Manchester Man's Arrest for Violating Probation: Report

He made several traffic violations before being stopped, police said.

VERNON, CT — Erratic driving led to the arrest of a Manchester man wanted for violation his probation, police said.

At 2:08 a.m. on Feb 21, a Vernon police cruiser was stationed at the intersection of Vernon Avenue and Hartford Turnpike, also known as state Route 30, according to an arrest report.

An officer began following a green Honda Accord onto Bamforth Road and noticed it swerve over the double yellow line, according to an arrest report. The car then turned westbound onto Cemetery Road and failed to stop at at a stop sign at Bolton Road, according to an arrest report.

The car proceeded southbound onto Whitney T. Ferguson Road near the Interstate-84 Exit 66 interchange, where the officer pulled it over, according to an arrest report.

The driver was identified as Ryan Joseph Dowling, 22, of 111 Highland St., Manchester. Dispatchers informed the office that a re-arrest warrant has been issued for Dowling for violation of probation of out Manchester Superior Court, police said.

State judicial system records show several convictions matching his name and birth year.

Dowling admitted knowing about the warrant, according to an arrest report. He was charged in Vernon for the traffic violations and driving under a license suspension, police said.

He was also charged with the probation violation and assigned a $50,000 bond, according to an arrest report.

He is due in Rockville Superior Court for the Vernon charges on March 6, according to judicial system records. No Manchester court date has been posted for the probation case.
