The Ethel Walker School Announces 2019 Graduates

Two students from Manchester recently received their diplomas from The Ethel Walker School.

SIMSBURY, CT — The Ethel Walker School, an independent college preparatory boarding and day school for girls in Simsbury, has announced two students from Manchester graduated as members of its Class of 2019.

Caroline (Chyler) Bastarache earned the Visual Arts Prize during the school’s annual Prize Night and will attend Rochester Institute of Technology in the fall.

Elisabeth (Liz) Helmin served as a captain of the varsity softball team and was a member of the varsity squad for five years. While at Walker’s, she earned the Girl Scout Gold Award as a member of Manchester Troop 10602. During the school’s annual Prize Night, she was awarded the Cummings Prize for creating an atmosphere of willing helpfulness, courtesy and friendliness especially for younger students. Helmin will attend Eastbourne College (England) in the fall for a postgraduate year followed by the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in the fall of 2020.
