School open house

Saint Bridget School in Manchester, 74 Main St., is hosting an open house on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. as a way to inform prospective students and their families about the academic curriculum and extracurricular activities available. Principal Mary Alice Nadaskay, teachers from all grades Pre-k to 8th as well as art, Spanish and language arts teachers will be on hand to answer any questions. School tours will also be given by current parents and School Board members.


St. Bridget is a pre-k through eighth grade Catholic School within the Archdiocese of Hartford. It is an active, strong and caring faith community, which is open to students of all faiths and cultures. The mission of the school is to help each student grow spiritually, academically, and socially.


The school, whose motto is “Where Students Succeed,” offers a strong writing program, interactive math and reading series, religion, science, history, geography, algebra, and Spanish, as well as art, music, and physical education instruction. According to Principal Nadaskay, students on an average score two grades higher on standardized tests than their public school counterparts.

Many diverse extracurricular activities including band, cheerleading, basketball (for grades 4-8), soccer ( for grades 3-8), baton twirling, robotics club, and more are also available. Tuition for kindergarten through eighth grade is capped for families with two or more children, and tuition assistance is available. Before and after care programs for all grades are also offered.
