MANCHESTER, CT — After collecting evidence at the scene, Manchester police are stepping up their investigation into a shooting this week on a local road.

At 7:35 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a report of several gun shots going off in the area of 41
Lyness St.

Officers located multiple shell casings in the roadway, but no victims, a report indicates.

Multiple witnesses told police they heard gunshots and seeing a dark-colored sedan speeding from the area, according to a report.

Detectives from the MPD's Investigative Services Unit have assumed the investigation.

The area of Lyness Street was secured that night and the scene was processed by investigators, but the probe is still ongoing. Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the Manchester Police Department at 860-645-5510.
