Feds: Man Admits To Role In Underage Prostitution Operation At Manchester Hotel and Others

Sentencing is set for September.

MANCHESTER, CT - A man has admitted to a role in a prostitution service that pimped out the services of a young girl in a Manchester hotel and other area lodging properties, federal authorities said.

United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut Deirdre Daly, announced that Jordan Anate, 25, who has the street names "Pills" and "Che Pills," pleaded guilty today before U.S. District Judge Vanessa L. Bryant in Hartford to one count of sex trafficking of a minor.

Anate is most recently from The Bronx, federal authorities said.

According to court documents and statements made in court, on March 5, 2015, East Hartford Police encountered an "underage girl" in a room at a local motel, federal authorities said.

The girl stated that she had met Aanate in New York and that, beginning in about December 2014, she had engaged in acts of prostitution under Anate's direction at hotels in Hartford, Manchester, New Britain and East Hartford, federal authorities said.

The girl had seen several clients per week, giving all of the money to Anate, federal authorities said.

In pleading guilty, Anate admitted that he knew the victim was younger than 18, federal authorities said.

"The sex trafficking of minors is a form of modern day slavery," Daly said. "This defendant victimized a young runaway - a girl he knew was under the age of 18. I thank the FBI and East Hartford Police Department for investigating this matter, recovering this victim, and preventing this defendant from victimizing any other girls or women for at least the next 10 years."

Judge Bryant scheduled sentencing for Sept. 14, Daly said.
