Fire Extinguished At Large Garage In Manchester: Officials
The cause of the fire is being investigated, according to officials.
MANCHESTER, CT — Crews extinguished a fire at a large detached garage on Oak Street in Manchester on Sunday afternoon, according to officials.
The Manchester Fire Department responded at 12:48 p.m. to the 50 block of Oak Street on the report of a structure fire.
“At the time of the incident, due to heavy call volume, only three companies were available,” officials wrote in a post on the Manchester Fire Department’s Facebook page. “The first company arrived on scene at 12:52 and found heavy smoke coming from a large detached garage, approximately 75 ft x 40 ft and consisting of 11 bays. Ultimately, Manchester Fire responded with all seven companies, stretched multiple attack lines and performed vertical ventilation, bringing the fire under control.

“Deep snow and a setback location created minor challenges for operations. There were no injuries reported and there are no occupants displaced.”
The origin and cause of the fire are being investigated by the fire marshal’s office, according to officials.
