Fire Severely Damages Home In Manchester

A home was wrecked by an intense blaze Thursday, despite a quick response by Manchester firefighters.

MANCHESTER, CT — A home in Manchester was severely damaged in a fire Thursday night.

Fire officials said the blaze broke out at 6:18 p.m. at 33 Eldridge St.

MFD Companies encountered a small single family home with a heavy volume of fire, but managed to get things under control in "a few minutes," officials said.

The home was "significantly" damaged and is presently uninhabitable, officials said. The Manchester Fire Marshal's Office is conducting an investigation for the origin and cause.

No injuries were reported.
